Ticket sales in our Missing Painting Raffle closed on July 31st. Raffle organizer Rafflebox chose the following winners by random number:
Contratulations to your winners. And thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket to the Missing Painting Raffle in support of the Canadian Artists Network.
And a special thank you to Bernard Poulin for donating his works and his talent to our cause.
In the early 1980s, renowned Canadian pianist, vibraphonist, and composer Hagood Hardy created a work he called Silent Sky. In 1986, Hagood’s friend, visual artist Bernard Poulin, created his Silent Sky, a visual version of his friend’s work that was intended to become the cover for a Hagood Hardy CD. But, sadly, Hagood died in 1997 before the album could be recorded.
Why was the painting missing?
Bernard’s Silent Sky was on display at an art gallery in Bermuda. Somehow it disappeared and remained missing for 32 years. It was re-discovered recently and returned to Bernard Poulin’s studio in Ottawa.
Imagine having your own portrait painted by a modern-day master.
Or a portrait of a loved one, a person you admire.
This commemoration, once the exclusive perk of wealth and nobility, could now be yours.
Renowned artist Bernard Poulin, whose portraits range from the Prince of Wales to political leaders, sports figures, and artists, will paint a portrait of you or the person [or pet!] of your choice if you win the prize.
