HealthCareAssist + Connect provides two kinds of navigational support for Members – HealthCareAssist for those facing serious or chronic illness, as well as HealthCareConnect for Members or their family members 65 or older.
HealthCareAssist
This program is is designed to assist those in our Community and their families who are facing a health crisis, chronic medical condition or serious disease, helping them better understand their diagnosis and navigate the health care system in Canada. You can speak on the telephone with a Nurse Advisor who will provide an assessment of your needs, offer guidance and answers, help you navigate the health care system, explain your options for tests and treatments, develop a personalized action plan and maintain a record of your treatment path.
HealthCareConnect
This program helps Members dealing with the special needs of people 65 and older. Members can use it for themselves or on behalf of a spouse/partner or parent. Recipients of the program must be 65 or older and reside in Canada.

Need personal health insurance? The Canadian Artists Network Community has access to the popular Arts & Entertainment Plan — an affordable health insurance plan offered by the not-for-profit insurer AFBS. And accessing the plan has become even easier with the new quoting and online enrollment functionality which boasts the fastest application process in Canada.
The Arts & Entertainment Plan® is designed to help artists manage their health care costs. You are guaranteed acceptance* into the plan [as long as you are under 71], with no medical questionnaires necessary and no refusals based on pre-existing conditions.
There are two plan options: Standard and Comprehensive. Both options offer dental, prescription drug, extended health care (hospital room, acupuncture, massage etc…), and travel emergency medical coverage. Both options also provide life and AD&D insurance and a Member and Family Assistance Program. There’s a monthly payment option available and premiums may be tax deductible.
The Arts & Entertainment Plan® website will give you a price quote in just two steps and it enables you to enroll in the plan and pay online by credit card. Once you’re registered you’ll have access to a new member portal where you can login and view your account details.
